Filomena Sena Salazar, 100, died Monday, Sept. 27, 2004, at Roosevelt General Hospital in Portales.
She was born on July 5, 1904, in Sena, to Regina and Antonio Sena.
She grew up in the area near Sena and Villanueva. She married Antonio Salazar on Oct. 24, 1927. They made their home on a ranch near Villanueva until 1983 when they moved to Portales. She lived the remainder of her life in Portales. She was a member of the Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ricardo Sena; a sister, Lionila Chavez; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and her husband.
Survivors include four sons, Petrolino Salazar (and wife, Agnes) of Moriarty, Tomas Salazar (Mary) of Sena, Armando “Joe” Salazar (Angie) of Villanueva and Jimmy Salazar (Patricia) of Moriarty; four daughters, Begnina Romero of Romeroville, Pablita Trujillo (Rubio) of Albuquerque, Esquipulita “Skippy” Encinias (Casey) of Portales and Deluvina Encinias of Moriarty; 37 grandchildren; 77 great-grandchildren; 37 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Juan Sena of Pueblo, Colo.; and two sisters, Condrada Velasquez of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Ambrosia Archibeque of Pueblo.
Father Francis Melloy will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Sena Cemetery in Sena.
Pallbearers are Rudy, Patrick, Everett, Tommy and Jacob Salazar, Merijilldo Encinias, Lawrence Trujillo and Faustin Anaya.
