ALBUQUERQUE — Clovis senior Megan Willis took sixth as the girls cross country team placed third at the Sandia Invitational Saturday morning.
Willis finished the 5K race in 25:12. Behind her in 10th was Monica Soto with a time of 26:15. One spot behind her with a time of 26:30 was Tori Northcutt.
The boys didn’t fare as well, taking eighth out of eight teams. Senior Chris Sawyer took 29th, completing the 5K race in 21:51. Junior Mike Wareham took 33rd with a time of 22:12.
Sandia won the girls varsity race with 45 points. Highland dominated the boys race, placing five runners in the top six.
