Thomas D. Willingham Sr., 86, of Clovis, died Friday, Aug. 6, 2004, at Granbury Care Center in Granbury, Texas.
He was born on July 27, 1918, in Featherston, Okla., to Idus P. and Winnie Willingham.
He was raised in Oklahoma but resided in Clovis for 63 years. He worked for AT&SF as a locomotive engineer and fireman for 38 years until his retirement on Dec. 31, 1979. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Elks Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Willingham; his parents; a sister, Mary Cannon; and a twin brother, Arthur Willingham.
Survivors include a son, Thomas Willingham Jr. (and wife, Kathy) of Jackson, Miss.; a daughter, Sue Cornish (Dean); five grandchildren, Lisa Waldinger of Godley, Texas, Kelli Bair of Albuquerque, Jana Crowder of Dallas, Terri Passig of Fort Allen, La. and Tom Cornish of Topeka, Kan.; nine great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, B.J. Willingham of Portland, Ore.; two sisters, Elsie Goodman (Sam) of Bonita, Calif. and Francis Staff of Stillwater, Okla.
The Rev. Robert Cocke will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
Pallbearers are Thomas and Jeremy Waldinger, Ralph Boone, Okie McGregor, Jimmy Allison, D.D. Hatcher, Charlie Griffin, Cecil Davis, L.D. Horton, J.W. McDonald, Paul Curry, R.E. Bryant, Harold Daughtery and J.D. Coal.
Honorary pallbearers are Sam Landess, George Bost, Doc Hester, Hugh Edwards, Delbert Lemons, S.M. “Bill” May, Gene Taylor, Bob Williams and Dolphus Blackard.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Resident Council Fund or Activity Fund at Granbury Care Center, 301 S. Park, Granbury, Texas 76048.
