A Clovis woman was critically injured on Saturday night when she suffered a stab wound to her neck, police said.

Kathleen Gooden, 50, was airlifted to Lubbock’s Covenant Hospital in Lubbock after police said she was stabbed during a domestic disturbance at her home at 117 Wallace.

James Gooden, 49, the victim’s husband, is in the Curry County Adult Detention Center on a domestic violence order. His cash-only bond is set at $10,000, officials said.

Police said they found Kathleen Gooden at a neighbor’s home after responding to the crime scene.

“She was holding a cloth to the right side of her neck and was bleeding profusely,” said Lt. Ron Hutchison of the Clovis Police Department. “She then advised that James Gooden had come over to the house and that there had been a struggle.”

Hutchison said officers followed a trail of blood from the scene of the stabbing to a nearby residence.
