Donald “Don” Ray Craig, 67, of Boles Acres, died Sunday, July 18, 2004.
He was born on Sept. 22, 1936, in Floyd, to Dean and Veta Craig.
He moved to Alamogordo in 1955 and worked for Rex Adams and many others. In 1959 he entered the U.S. Army and served until 1962. He then worked for Doug Downs at Alamo Materials, Roy Howard, Don Tennant, Buddy Sanford and Harris Blankenship. He was a member of the Elks Club and Boles Acres Lions. He married Maxine on Sept. 3, 1960.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Clay Craig (and wife, Nichole) of Boles Acres; a step-daughter, Daryon of Bole Acres; a grandson, Cody Craig of Boles Acres; a granddaughter, Taren Robinson of Alamogordo; five brothers, Kenneth Craig (Nell) of Elida, Charles Craig (BJ) of Lubbock, John Harris Craig (Rose) of Waco, Texas, Eddie Craig (Veronica) of Grants and Lynn Craig (Lavona) of Kansas; five sisters, Nell Clark of Pharr, Texas, Vivian Goree (LeRoy) of Holbrook, Ariz., Mozelle Sloan of Portales, Joyce Ann Crosby of California and Linda Craig of Austin, Texas; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Craig of Copperas Cove, Texas; many cousins including, Luther Craig (Diane) and Minnie Giusti, both of Alamogordo; three aunts, Virginia Hoppinggardner of Clovis, Elsa Craig of El Paso, Texas and Jewel Winkler of Alamogordo; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation is scheduled from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. today at the Sears Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel in Alamogordo.
The Rev. Charles Moon will officiate the services.
Burial will be at White Lake Cemetery in Gran Quivera.
Pallbearers are Jason Blankenship, David and Preston Craig, Scott Austin, James Cadwalder and David Eldridge.
Honorary pallbearers are Harris Blankenship, Buddy Sanford, Bennie Artiga, Jerry Kumphe, Clayton Munsey, Steve Taken, Shorty Falen, Lee Shaw, John Morris, Ernil Kubos, Marvin Powell and Terry Reed.
