Mrs. Marie B. Selgado-Mendez, 60, of Clovis, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque.
She was born on March 12, 1944, in Vaughn, to Candido and Domitilia Garcia Selgado.
She graduated from Clovis High School in 1964. She married Richard T. Mendez Dec. 24, 1965 in Clovis. She graduated from Eastern New Mexico University with a bachelor’s degree in education. She retired after 25 years of service with the State of New Mexico Human Services Department.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, including Joe Emilio Selgado; two aunts, Isadora Selgado and Zenaida Szymulewski; and an uncle, Juan Selgado.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Mendez of the home in Clovis; two sons, Richard Mendez of Clovis and Nathan Mendez of Austin, Texas; two sisters, Mary Ann Maes of Clovis and Antonia Carmente of Seattle.
A rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at Steed-Todd Chapel in Clovis.
Father Sotero Sena will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home in Clovis.
