Mr. Claude Burke, 86, of Clovis, died Thursday, June 10, 2004, at Laurel Ridge Healthcare in Clovis.
He was born on Dec. 7, 1917, in Bebee, Okla., to Charlie and Onie Waldon Burke.
He married Alice Hunt on Oct. 23, 1950, in Portales. He had been a longtime Clovis resident and retired from Lockwood Elementary School as custodian in 1983. He worked for the Clovis Public Schools for 12 years. He was a ranch hand for Jay Swartz for 16 years and worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 10 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Tommy Burke; and a sister, Peggy Burke.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Betty Lou Strickland of Mississippi and Claudia Sue Dobesh of Bellville, Texas; two sons, Charles Gene Burke of Truxton, Ariz., and Ray Burke of Clovis; a brother, Glen Burke of Clovis; a sister, Lillie Keshner of Riverside, Calif.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Sam Kelley will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
Pallbearers are Anthony, Orlando, Alex and John Bonney.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home in Clovis.

Sergio Ramirez
Sergio Ramirez, 77, of Clovis, died Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at his home.
He was born on March 12, 1927, in Santiago De, Chile, to Oscar and Rebecca Garcia Ramirez.
He married Ingrid Talmon-Gross on Dec. 31, 1959, in Pforzheim, Germany. He came to Cannon Air Force Base in April of 1970. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a master sergeant after 20 years of service with security police. He worked at the Clovis Police Department as an administrator for 11 years. Family members said he loved reading, yard work and gardening and was of the Catholic faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Patrick Ramirez (and wife, Margaret) and Robert Ramirez, all of Las Cruces; a grandchild, Patricia Ramirez of Las Cruces; two sisters, Gabby Ramirez and Carmen Ramirez, both of Santiago De, Chile; and two brothers, Patricio Ramirez and Oscar Ramirez, both of Santiago De, Chile.
Cremation has taken place.
Burial will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
