Mr. Bobby Collins, 72, of Clovis, died Saturday, May 15, 2004, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
He was born on March 16, 1932, in Walnut Ridge, Ark., to Ben and Edith Coy Collins.
He married Alice W. Derr on Sept. 14, 1954, in Walnut Ridge, Ark. He had been a resident of Clovis since August of 1965. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1972. He worked for feed lots and did construction work after retirement. Family members said he loved to cook, bake and fish at Green Acres Lake. He was a member of 16th & Pile Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Woodrow; and a sister, Bernice Derr.
Survivors include his wife; a son, David Collins of Albuquerque; two daughters, Alice Beavers (and husband, Dudley) and Susan Barteau (Michael), all of Rio Rancho; two brothers, Billy Collins of Hartford, Mich. and Johnny Collins of Coloma, Mich.; four grandchildren, Quintin and Gary Oliver, Christopher Barteau and Cindy Yanez; and nine great-grandchildren.
Jim Gammon officiate the services.
Burial will be at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis.
Full military honors will be conducted by the Cannon Air Force Base Honor Guard.
Pallbearers are LaVerne Vaughan, Melburn Johnston, Kenneth Jones, Don McCasland, Bob Norris and Curtis Tabor.
Memorial contributions may be made to the 16th & Pile Church of Christ Youth Fund.
