Amelia Rodriguez, 72, of Clovis died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at University of New Mexico Medical Center in Albuquerque.
She was born on April 12, 1931, in Boquilla, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Atilano and Jetrudes Marquez Arreola.
She moved to Clovis in 1989. Family members said she loved to read the bible, cook and listen to Christian music.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jose Dolores Sotelo Enriquez; her second husband, Benjamin Rodriguez; and a son, Jesus Chumel Sotelo.
Survivors include seven daughters, Gregoria Lopez (and husband, Clemente) and Ramona Lopez (Socorro), all of Clovis, Maria Dolores Licano (Enrique), Maria De Jesus Salaiz (Octavio), Maria Reyes Vega and Ana Maria Sainz (Chayo), all of Mexico, and Lorena Rosales (Cipriano) of Las Vegas, Nev.; six sons, Raymundo Sotelo (Amy), Luis Sergio Sotelo (Darlene), Jesus Manuel Sotelo (Sandra), Tomas Sotelo (Marixa) and Javier Alonzo Sotelo, all of Clovis, and Raul Sotelo of Mexico; three brothers, Lorenzo Arreola of Mexico, Reyes Arreola of Denver and Soccorro Arreola of New Orleans; five sisters, Rosa Cordova, Nena Arreola and Elva Arreola, all of Mexico, Cuca Nevares of Aspen, Colo., and Bertha Barraza of New Orleans; 41 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren.
A prayer service is scheduled at 5 p.m. today at The Chapel, 1500 Thornton in Clovis.
The Rev. Alfredo Espino and the Rev. Pedro Escobar will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis.
Pallbearers will be Tomas, Luis, Jesus, Raymundo and Raul Sotelo and Cipriano Rosales.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.
