Lola Fern Ford, 91, of Clovis died Monday, March 8, 2004, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
She was born on March 17, 1912, in Clovis to John and Elizabeth Tatum.
She graduated from Clovis High School in 1930 and attended college in Las Vegas, N.M., before marrying Gale Harte. After a few years she returned to Clovis and taught in various area schools. She married Loris Ford in 1945. Family members said she loved traveling, playing dominoes at the senior center, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Claude Rainy Day Extension Club and was a Pink Lady at the hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, John C. Tatum; a stepdaughter, Letha Noffsker; and a grandson, Wesley Baker.
Survivors include three daughters, Karen Hicks of Orange, Calif., Joyce Baker (and husband, Ron) of Clovis and Ramona Prater (Charles) of Lubbock; a son, Edwin Ford (Doris) of Clovis; two sisters, Mary M. King of Meade, Okla., and Elizabeth Frederick of Oregon; 14 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Friday at Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.
The Rev. Rick Jones will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis.
Pallbearers are Rusty Baker, Kelly Carlburg, Jon and Tio Ford, Tres Hicks, Matthew Lansford, Phillip Lemke and Justin Robbs.
