Joe C. Roark, 65, of Clovis died Wednesday, April 14, 2004, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
He was born on Oct. 24, 1938, in Clovis to Charles Everett and Ada Louise Nichols Roark.
He married Quineil Elliott on April 5, 1958, in Muleshoe. He came to Clovis in 1964 from West Camp, Texas. He was a member of Kingswood United Methodist Church where he was on the Board of Trustees, on the Church Council, was the head usher, taught the 3-year-old Sunday school class and was active in Emmaus. He farmed for 19 years in Texico and Clovis. He was a member of the Two Cylinder Tractor Club, owner of Clovis Diesel Injection for 13 years and was a car salesman for local dealerships.
He was preceded in death by his father; a sister, Lola Donaldson; and a brother, Roy Roark.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Rob K. Roark (and wife, Darla) of Clovis and Mike Roark (Becky) of Midland, Texas; a daughter, Rhonda Pierce (Chris) of Clovis; six grandchildren, Jody Roark (Misty), Danny Pierce and Jamie, Jessie, Andrew and Anna Roark; two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Jaidyn; a brother, Charles Roark of Amarillo; and his mother.
The Rev. Brad Reeves and the Rev. Glen Harlin will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Texico Cemetery.
The casket will be closed for services.
Visitation is 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. today at Muffley Funeral Home in Clovis.
Pallbearers will be Michael Chaves, L.C. Gonser, Joe Ward, Delbert Kuhn, Chester Harth and Gary Tate.
Honorary pallbearers are Boyd Trull, antique tractor buddies and the Methodist Men’s Group.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kingswood United Methodist Church in Clovis.
