Most readers won’t miss ‘Sex and the City’

A recent Project: Reader Reaction question asked if participants would miss “Sex and the City.” Some responses:

“Inasmuch as my personal ‘Sex and the City’ (Kansas City, from where we moved to Clovis in l990) was satisfactory, I didn’t feel a need to view the TV program, and never did.”
— Harold Burris, Clovis

“I don’t have HBO, so I didn’t get to see many episodes of ‘Sex and the City.’ My sister, however, loved the show and bought the DVDs, so I did get to see some of it. What I did see, I really enjoyed. It was a funny, fresh, enjoyable show. However, I think it had a great run and it was time for the show to be over.”
— Amy Graves, Clovis

“I will, but then my favorite show, ‘Six Feet Under,’ will occupy that time slot in my heart.”
— Christy Mendoza, Clovis

“No, I will not miss ‘Sex and the City.’ To me it’s nothing more than another daytime soap opera, only with comedy.”
— Michael Williams, Clovis

“To me, it’s good for a television series to end on an up note rather than come to a miserable end with the public wishing the thing would go away. … I was initially put off by ‘Sex and the City’ sight unseen, but after I started watching it I found it funny, quirky and believable. … I won’t really miss it though; not like I miss the good years of ‘Northern Exposure.’”
— Brent McBee, Clovis

“I’m 60 years old with little time left. When it comes to sex, my wife and I cannot waste our time watching it on TV.”
— Auggie Jones, Clovis

“No, I guess I won’t miss that show. I also wouldn’t miss Oprah Winfrey, soap operas, and the other horrible programming designed for women these days. As long as ‘The Man Show’ stays on Comedy Central, I’ll be happy!”
— Richard Lopes, Clovis
