Kathleen L. Whitley, 81, of Clovis died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
She was born June 9, 1922, in Stanton, Texas, to Edward and Cora Adcock Whitley.
She was a homemaker and a member of Northside Church of Christ in Clovis, Senior Citizens, Senior Olympics and Foster Grandparents. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and trips with her daughters. Family members said the love of her life was her little Chihuahua, Angel Marie. She loved to help people.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; two sisters; a son, Charles Howard; and her husband, Paul Howard.
Survivors include two sisters, Gladys Laws of West Sacramento, Calif., and Joyce King Carvel of Fresno, Calif.; a brother, Ervin Whitley of Albany, Ore.; six children, Herman “Bud” Howard (and wife Sandy) of Las Vegas, Nev., Linda Howard of Clovis, Pat Howard of Muleshoe, Pauline Weaver (and Jack) of Clovis, Karen Collins (and Ted) of Clovis, and Natalie Gillard (and Frank) of Tucumcari; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
William Wallace will officiate at the service.
Burial will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Terrace Grove Cemetery in Belen.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Butler, Mike Gatewood, Rex Shearin, Gary Dictson, Joe Sena and Gabe Tapia.
Honorary pallbearers are her son-in-laws.
