Iris M. Kinsey, 89, of Fort Sumner, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004, at Albuquerque Manor Care Center.
She was born on April 18, 1914, in Melrose, to Hershall and Georgia Catlin Adams.
She attended and graduated from the New Mexico School of the Blind in Alamogordo where she learned to play the violin. She married Jack Kinsey Sr. in 1933. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fort Sumner. Family members said she was a loving wife and mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and a son, Jack Millard Kinsey.
Survivors include five nieces, Jo Carter of Albuquerque, Jimmie Hancock of Hampton, Va., Judy Mongeau of Tucson, Ariz., Connie Baldwin of Melrose and Debra Evans of California; five nephews, Paul Adams of Melrose, Jimmy Adams of Phoenix, Burt Adams and Don Adams, both of Albuquerque and John Phillips of California.
The Rev. Coy Brewer will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Fort Sumner Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. will be Tuesday from 1PM to 6PM at the funeral home.
