Bud Pearce, 73, of Texico died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004, at Covenant Medical Center Lakeside in Lubbock.
He was born on Jan. 17, 1930, in Mexia, Texas, to Luther and Mollie Gordon Pearce.
He married Aileen May on Dec. 25, 1949, in Texico. He farmed for more than 60 years. Family members said he was a husband of one, a father of four, a grandfather of 13, a great-grandfather of one and a friend to all who knew him. He was a member and elder of the First Baptist Church in Texico.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Miller; and his parents.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dan Pearce (and wife, Miriam) of Sublett, Kan., and Rod Pearce (Ann) of Clovis; two daughters, Kim Peterson (Tim) of Texico and Jo Igo (Tony) of Whiteface, Texas; 13 grandchildren, Jamie Defeo (Troy), Joi and Josh Pearce, Carrie Huber (Shawn), Ben, Andy and Abby Pearce, Katie, Mollie and Ethan Peterson and Corrie, Kyle and Chris Igo; a great-grandchild, Camryn; and a sister, Sylva Compton of Clovis. The family will be fed at noon on Friday if any would want to come by.
Rob Hollis and Dan Pearce will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Texico Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be the grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers are the elders and deacons of the First Baptist Church in Texico.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in Texico.
