Mr. Geo W. Brown, 83, of Clovis died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, at the Retirement Ranch in Clovis.
He was born on Aug. 24, 1920, in Bonham, Texas, to Jewel and Agnes Neal Brown.
He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1942 until 1945. He married Johnnie McDonald on May 7, 1942, in Roswell. He was employed by Southern Union Gas Company serving in various management capacities in Clovis, El Paso and Alamogordo. He retired from Southern Union Refining in Lovington in 1983. He and his wife moved to Clovis in 1987. Family members said he was an accomplished craftsman and artisan who enjoyed photography, woodworking and home improvement projects. He was a member of Central Christian Church in Clovis.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Linda Zuege (and husband, Harry) of El Paso, Texas, and Cheryl Look (George) of Austin, Texas; a son, Allan Brown (Dori) of Lovington; a brother, Jay Brown of Portales; a sister, Martha Masterson of Loveland, Colo.; two grandsons, Victor Zuege of Charleston, S.C., and Evan Brown of Albuquerque; four granddaughters, Shannon Ochoa of El Paso, Texas, Brittany Arnot and Brianna Look, both of Austin, Texas, and Katherine Brown of Lovington.
The Rev. Larry Tedrow and the Rev. Odell Farr will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Portales Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home in Clovis.
