Cleta Fay Bridges, 64, of Clovis, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
She was born on Jan. 20, 1939, in Bochita, Okla., to Elmer and Evelyn Flippo Hathcoat.
She went to school in Sand Springs, Okla., as a child and moved to Bonham, Texas, in her junior year where she graduated from Bonham High School. She moved to Portales in 1977 and then to Clovis where she was the owner of Bridges Retirement Manor since 1991. Family members said she was a born care giver. Instead of bringing home stray animals she would bring home stray people. Her caring and giving has always been unconditional, family members said. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers.
Survivors include three sons, Rickie McBroom (and wife, Donna) of Lordsburg, Kenny Welch of Dalhart, Texas, and Michael Bridges (Shelley) of Clovis; two daughters, Teresa Robbs of Clovis and Cheryl Jones (Altis) of Dalhart; a friend, Troy Jernigan of Clovis; a sister, Billie Harrust of Dalhart; a brother, Clyde Hathcoat of Durant, Okla.; eight grandchildren, Kandi Williams, Lauren Robbs, Randy, Todd and Denae McBroom, Trever, Tyler and Kyleigh Bridges; and two great-grandchildren, Darrion Williams and Aspen Prina.
Jake Taylor will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
Pallbearers will be Lonnie and Tommy King, Kevin Crouch, Glen Fields, Eric Uarnga, and Sarrett Williams.
