Sandia Baptist choir presents musical
The adult choir of Sandia Baptist Church, 1100 W. Manana Blvd., will present the musical, “Bound for Glory,” at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
The musical is directed by Michael Hailey, and the drama directed by Sandy Williams.
Solos will be performed by Sarah Stevens, Robin Evans, Joyce Pruitt, T.J. Watson and Hailey.

Deliverance sets appreciation services
Deliverance Temple Church, 905 Rio St., has scheduled four appreciation services Oct. 30 to Nov. 2 for pastor Bishop Jimmy Drain and his wife Evangelist Rachel Drain.
The services will be at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 30-Nov. 1, and at 5 p.m. on Nov. 2.
Food will be served after the services.

Early registration for Bible study workshop
Church on the Move, 901 W. Brasher in Roswell, is hosting a Precept Ministries Institute of Training workshop Nov. 13-15.
The workshop can teach participants the inductive Bible study method as an effective way to dig out truth personally. It can also train people for leading and teaching others.

Dickson to speak on death penalty
Henry Dickson, an attorney, social worker and a member of the New Mexico Coalition to Repeal the Death Penalty, will speak about the death penalty at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Wesley Foundation, next to the campus of Eastern New Mexico University, in Portales.
“He will … be addressing the issues related to the death penalty involving revenge, deterrent and the history of the death penalty in New Mexico,” said Donald Holladay, ENMU instructor of religion.
The New Mexico Coalition to Repeal the Death Penalty is a nonprofit alliance of organizations and individuals committed to complete repeal of the death penalty.
“The idea of this lectureship is to get people to think about the death penalty,” Holladay said.
Handbell workshop set for Nov. 8
Calvary Baptist Church, 5301 82nd St., in Lubbock, will sponsor the West Texas Regional Handbell Workshop with guest clinician Christine Anderson at 9 a.m. (CST) Nov. 8.
A massed ring will conclude the workshop at 3 p.m. (CST).
The workshop is open to all interested handbell choirs and individual ringers.
