Irene Elizabeth Wilson
Mrs. Irene Elizabeth Wilson, 73, of Clovis, a homemaker, died Monday, Aug. 18, 2003, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
She was born on Dec. 6, 1929, in Gilmer County, Ga., to Herman and Velvie Cochran Weaver.
She married Lamon Wilson Sr. on Dec. 11, 1945, in Blue Ridge, Ga. They moved to Dumas, Texas, in 1955 and to Clovis in 1965. She was a member of Texico Assembly of God. Family members said she was a homemaker in every sense of the word, was a loving mother who was involved in all of her children’s activities, enjoyed cooking for her family and liked to go fishing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Mariann Adams; two sisters; a brother; and a grandson, Brian Wilson.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Imagene Rainey (and husband, Stevon) of Amarillo; three sons, Lamon “Bill” Wilson Jr. and Hoyt Wilson (Ann), both of Dalton, Ga. and Leon Wilson (Carolyn) of Clovis; 16 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Bob Burris will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
Pallbearers will be Ryan and Caleb Wilson, Michael Adams, Rick Gibson, Johnny Lucero and Mickey Craven.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Texico Assembly of God Building Fund or to the American Cancer Society.
