Ms. Leslie Carla Sears, 52, of Farwell, a business co-owner, died Monday, July 7, 2003, at Muleshoe Area Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 28, 1950, in Clovis, to Lester C. and Dovie Sears.
She spent most of her life in the Clovis area and moved to Farwell five years ago. She received a bachelor’s degree from Eastern New Mexico University and worked as a bookkeeper at Walgreens for several years. She got a contractor’s license and went into the construction business with her father. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Farwell.
She was preceded in death by her father; a sister, Nancy D. Nutt; two stillborn nieces, Leslie Lee and Misty Shawntau; her grandparents; seven uncles, Pete, Walter and J.T. Wright, Hookey Fulgham, Pat Hall and Leo and John Sears; and two aunts, Billie J. Wright and Esther Sears.
She is survived by her mother; three aunts, Jody Fulgham and Lorraine Hall, both of Clovis, and Dixie Witcher (and husband, Eli) of Gravette, Ark.; and cousins, Linda Comer, Connie Rentzel, Nan McClain, Dana Birdsall, Billie Barkowsky, LeDae Cavazos, Corey Sears, Johnny Fulgham, Ron Willeford and Rick, Tim and Larry Witcher.
The Rev. Richard Laverty will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Sunset Terrace Memorial Cemetery in Farwell.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Farwell or to a hospice.
