The Rev. Mack Davis, 86, of Clovis, a pastor, died Monday, May 12, 2003, at Laurel Plains Health Care in Clovis.
He was born on Jan. 2, 1917 in Livingston, Texas, to Henry and Gertrude Davis.
He attended Conroe Bible College in Conroe, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, then worked in construction. He attended Macedonia Baptist Church and was called to the ministry, licensed and ordained by his pastor, the Rev. J.H. Williams. He served in the Shiloh Missionary District Association as a missionary and devotional leader and as a missionary for the Southern District until 1992. He was pastor of Mount Pleasant Baptist church in Lufkin, Texas for two years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Callie Gray Starghill, Gertrude Davis Shelton, Diana L. Davis and Diana L. Davis Oguinn; and two brothers, Jase B. Davis and Tommy Gray.
He is survived by six nieces, Rebecca Shiner, Regina Hanson and Renita Davis, all of Clovis, Joyce Johnson of Houston, Joan Brown of Oklahoma City and Diane Randolph of New York; a nephew, Jimmie Shiner Jr. of Portales; and a host of other nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
The Revs. Bryian Phillips and Joe Callahan will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
Pallbearers will be Deacons Jerry Askew, David McPherson, Leo Dudley and Lewis Foster and Brothers Matthew Askew and Quintin Ross.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.
