Dorothy Marie Cooks Johnson, 63, of Clovis, died Thursday, July 31, 2003, in Amarillo.
She was born on Oct. 3, 1939, in Sundown, Texas, to T. Frat and Lottie Whitlow Cooks.
She moved to Amarillo at an early age and attended Coter Elementary School. She met and married Jessie Lee Johnson and moved to Plainview, Texas. She returned to Amarillo before moving to Clovis.
She was preceded in death by two infant children; and a brother, Freddie T. Cooks.
She is survived by five daughters, Alice Johnson Agu of Amarillo, Carol Johnson Walker of Sacramento, Calif., Janice Johnson Wilson (and husband, Henry) of Dallas, Billie “Candy” Johnson Durley (Lawrence) of Clovis and Terina “Tina” Johnson (Rodney) of Amarillo; five sons, Van Johnson, Glaston Johnson, Don Johnson (Shalyn), Darron Johnson (Rosie) and Willie Johnson (Ursula), all of Amarillo; 32 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; a sister, Patsy Ruth Williams of Sacramento, Calif.; a special friend, Jewel Hargrove of Clovis; and a host of nieces, nephews and relatives.
The Revs. Gover Neal and James Roberts will officiate the services.
Arrangements are by Wardford Walker Mortuary of Amarillo.
