Clovis and Portales residents are throwing a party for their military neighbors from 1 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Greene Acres Park in Clovis.
The event is dubbed, “Salute to Our Troops: A Homecoming Celebration,” and will feature welcome speeches by both city’s mayors, an F-16 flyover, live music, games and entertainment.
Residents from both communities will line Clovis’ Main Street at 1 p.m. for a Patriotic Military Parade threading its way from Grand Avenue to Greene Acres Park, where the rest of the festivities will take place.

Schedule of Events
1 p.m. — Patriotic Military Parade begins at Grand and Main streets.
2 p.m. — Parade ends at Greene Acres Park.
2:30 p.m. — Official celebrations begin on the main stage at Greene Acres Park. Opening ceremonies feature presentations by Clovis Mayor David Lansford and Portales Mayor Orlando Ortega; musical performances by Miss New Mexico Rana Jones, the Children’s Patriotic Choir, the national anthem performed by Carol Mitchell; a POW/MIA ceremony; and an F-16 flyover.
5 p.m. — Performance by Katrina Elam, one of Nashville’s newest country acts.
6 p.m. — Air Force Band of the Rockies “Pegasus” will perform as the final act of the evening.
