Mrs. Beth N. Broome, 80, of Clovis, a retired teacher, died Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at Plains Regional Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 12, 1922, in Glenville, Ga., to Lee Roy and Mary Harvey Nelson.
She married Frank Broome Dec. 24, 1942, in Rossville, Ga. She taught second grade at Sandia Elementary from 1962–1987. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Clovis and the Plains Regional Medical Center Auxiliary. Family members said she loved to drink coffee with friends and to root for the Atlanta Braves.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Katherine Brown; and two brothers, Merrill and Bill Nelson.
She is survived by three sons, Joe Broome (and wife, Dee) of Dallas, Jim Broome (and wife, Trudy) of Mountainair and Karl Broome of Houston; a daughter, Marilyn Killough (and husband, Weldon) of Clovis; six grandchildren, Kara Hyde of Los Angeles, Jay Killough of Lubbock, Paul and Holly Broome, both of Dallas, and Brande and Jake Broome, both of Mountainair.
The Rev. Herbert Bergstrom will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren Paul, Holly, Brande and Jake Broome, Kara Hyde and Jay Killough.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
